Batty

The crocheted vampire bat :D

a sorry-you-had-jabs-today-a-saurus for Jasper, and the best bit… he has a toy squeaker on his tummy :D

Saturday 18th February

Finally sat down and decided to expand my knitting skills with my first ever attempt at knitting in the round so far so good.

I’m using a gorgeous paton fab fair isle yarn and a sweet sock pattern from ‘cute knits for baby feet’ the pattern calls for ‘sailor’ stripes but i’m letting the yarn do the work for me and concentrating on knitting with 5 needles instead of 2.

Heres what i have so far… just need to figure out the heel now :)

update: The heel hasn’t gone too badly i think i rejoined the wrapped stitches a little wrong so theres a couple of small holes nothing i can’t easily fix with a bit of darning once its done and i think i know what i did so the next sock should be perfect :)

Just been sat watching a movie and crocheting a couple of rows for my ongoing epic ripple blanket sofa throw :D i’ll share a progress photo with you shortly

Ribbon scarf ta-dah :D

Afternoon fellow tumblers :D hope everyones having a good day!

The little ones taking a nap so i’m taking the chance to show you my finished ribbon scarf!

Its a gorgeous yarn and as soon as i find the ribbon band i’ll let you know what it was, this is how it looked before i started..

And finished…

and heres a better look at how it looks knitted…

Friday 17th February 2012 Dinosaur ta-dah!

Hoping to have a couple of tah’dah days :D

I know i haven’t shown you the baby book i made Jasper yet, and i’m just sewing together the knitted pieces for my Allosaurus dinosaur (pattern from Tina Baretts knitted dinosaurs) pretty sure my ribbon scarf will be finished as well, and i’m long overdue sharing the progress of my ripple blanket..which along with my knitted Stegosaurus, some shopping, the babys pushchair (he wasn’t in it) survived a recent encounter with a local shallow lake on a particularly windy day…it could only happen to me!

Hes finished!!! Heres my Allosaurus! hes jointed as well super pleased with him

Monday 13th February…

What a productive day! long walk into town with my little family, got Jasper his first pair of shoes :)

Had a great time at my knitting group, been teaching a lady how to crochet and she seems to have gotten the hang of it now and is making a gorgeous blanket, she’s the second person i’ve taught and i find it so much more satisfying teaching people how to do it themselves instead of just making things for them :)

Had time to do a little crafting as well, the ruffle scarfs still a work in progress which i’m just about to sit down to (i couldn’t do it at knitting group because i left one of the needles at home lol) but i got a row of my ripple done in between teaching and i’ve just made a cute little crochet key (my own pattern!) for Jasper to play with tomorrow for one of the nerdwars challenges on ravelry this month :)

Sunday 12th February

Its been a hectic couple of days! Happy first birthday yesterday to my amazing little Jasper :) hes been such a little angel and been spoilt rotton

Finally finished sewing together my birthday bunting…

and after a lovely day with various family peoples i’ve sat down and begun knitting a scarf with some gorgeous cobwebby purple ribbon yarn i got for christmas, photo to follow :)

Thursday 9th February
